The Casa Taller of the Fundació Miquel Navarro hosted yesterday, Thursday 10 September, the presentation of the summer 2026 issue of Tendencias Diseño, a leading Valencian magazine specialising in architecture, interior design and decoration.
More than two hundred professionals from these fields — architects, quantity surveyors, interior designers, photographers and representatives of furniture brands, among others — took part in an event that offered an opportunity to discover this new cultural space in Mislata and spend an afternoon centred on design, architecture and contemporary art.
The director of Tendencias Diseño, Ángela Pla, welcomed the guests alongside Carlos Fernández Bielsa, Mayor of Mislata and President of the Fundació Miquel Navarro.
In her speech, Pla highlighted the unique character of the Casa Taller and its close connection with Miquel Navarro’s creative universe, shaped by architecture, ceramics and an imagery rooted in the landscape and irrigation channels.
For his part, Carlos Fernández Bielsa emphasised the Casa Taller’s dual role as a space for preserving and promoting the life and work of Miquel Navarro, as well as a venue open to new initiatives related to contemporary art and design. In this regard, he highlighted the connection between the aims of the Fundació and those of Tendencias Diseño in promoting art and design.
The choice of the Casa Taller as the venue for presenting this new issue of the magazine also reflects the prominence given to the space in its pages. The summer issue of Tendencias Diseño features an article on the Casa Taller, focusing on its architectural characteristics and the transformation of Miquel Navarro’s former studio into a new space for promoting his work and contemporary culture.
Although Miquel Navarro was unable to attend the event for health reasons, Ángela Pla conveyed a message of affection to him during her speech and highlighted the special nature of a space created by the artist himself, which today retains “its energy and its distinctive creative universe”.
During the tour of the different spaces in the Casa Taller, numerous attendees commented on how well Tendencias Diseño had chosen this unique setting, as was also reflected in the large number of photographs that participants subsequently shared on their social media.
