1964

Beginnings as a painter and draftsman, especially on paper.

He began his artistic training at the Higher School of Fine Arts of San Carlos (Valencia).

1968

Participate in the group exhibition “Our Self”, at the Círculo Universitario de Valencia.

1972

He began to dedicate himself mainly to sculpture.

He held his first individual exhibition at the Tassili Gallery in Oviedo.

1973

He created “La ciutat 1973-1974”, the first of his cities. Exhibits at the Val i 30 Gallery in Valencia.

1974

He moved away from painting to dedicate himself primarily to sculpture.

First exhibition exclusively of sculpture, at the Colegio de Arquitectos de Valencia, under the title "The City".

1975

He exhibits an installation of "The City" in the Buades Gallery in Madrid.

1977

Exhibits at the Juana de Aizpuru Gallery, Seville.

1978

Make “Pyramid 1978-1979”.

Participates in the group exhibition Katalanische Funts des 20. Jahrhunderts, at the Staatliche Kunsthalle in Berlin.

1980

His work is part of the group exhibition “Images from Spain”, at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, an exhibition that will later travel to the United States.

1981

Participates in the IV Coltejer Biennial of Medellín, Colombia.

1982

It presents several sculptural installations, along with drawings and watercolors, at the Fernando Vijante Gallery in Madrid, under the title “Sculptures, watercolors, drawings 1972-1982.”

Participates in the XIIe Biennale de Paris.

1984

Produces "The city 1984-1985".

“Font Pública” is inaugurated in Valencia, a 23-meter-high fountain that commemorates the bringing of water from the Júcar River to Valencia. This work will be popularly known as “The Pink Panther.”

1986

Receives the National Prize for Plastic Arts awarded by the Ministry of Culture.

She participates in the XLII Biennale di Venezia, inside the Spain pavilion, alongside Ferran García Sevilla, José María Sicilia and Cristina Iglesias.

Create a public fountain in Turís, Valencia.

1987

He receives the Alfons Roig Prize, awarded by the Valencia Provincial Council.

1988

He exhibits a small anthology at Sala Parpalló, Valencia, at the Madrid gallery Gamarra y Garrigues and at the Barcelona gallery Joan Prats.

1989

Exhibits at the Reina Sofía National Art Center Museum in Madrid.

On October 27, his “Paranoid Minerva”, 17 meters high, is placed in the Crystal Palace in Madrid, opening the exhibition season.

1990

Receives the CEOE Award for the Arts. He installs the sculpture Tower of Sound at the Carlos III University of Madrid.

1992

Installs the sculpture "Fraternitat" in Barcelona.

1994

Exhibits at the Musée National d'Art Moderne, Center Georges Pompidou (Paris).

Installs the public fountain “Boca de luna” in Brussels.

1995

Receives the National Award from the Association of Art Critics at ARCO'95 (Madrid).

Installs the public fountain “Boca de luna” in Brussels.

1998

Miquel's World is on display at the Chicago Cultural Center, an exhibition that is repeated at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Monterrey, Mexico, and at the Museum of Modern Art in Mexico City.

1999

Installs the pieces “Casco industrial” in Bilbao and “Andarín” in Gijón.

2000

Receives the Prix International d'Art Contemporain in Monte Carlo.

Expose and The Hague Sculpture 2000, and La Haya.

The sculpture “Vigía” is installed in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

2001

He exhibits individually at the Kunsthalle Faust, Hannover.

The sculpture “Head with waning moon” is inaugurated in Mislata.

2002

Participates in the exhibition Art in Spain 1977–2000 held in Moscow.

His sculpture The Gaze is placed in the plaza of the Artium Center-Basque Museum of Contemporary Art, Vitoria-Gasteiz.

Receives the Distinction of the Generalitat Valenciana for Cultural Merit 2002.

2003

The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao acquires the sculpture City Wall, and presents it in Bilbao.

He exhibits “A city in your hands” in Amman (Jordan), Beirut (Lebanon) and in Taipei (Taiwan), with the collaboration of the Cervantes Institute.

Participates in the exhibition “The city that never existed”, at the Center de Cultura Contemporània of Barcelona and at the Museum of Fine Arts of Bilbao.

The public sculpture “El parotet” is inaugurated in Valencia.

“Palas foundry” is installed in Ceutí (Murcia).

2005

The Cathedral of Burgos commissions an altarpiece from him.

The Institut Valencià d'Art Modern (IVAM) exhibits more than three hundred of his works from the period 1964–2005.

His work is included in the ArquiEscultura exhibition at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.

2006

The IVAM exhibition is shown at the Caixa Galicia Foundation, Ferrol.

Participates in the exhibition Homage to Chillida, at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.

His work is included in the exhibition Times of Freedom (1975–2000), in the Kubo Room of the Kursaal Palace in Donostia-San Sebastián.

2007

The exhibition “Ojos de Mar” is presented at the IVAM in Valencia and the exhibition “Drawings” at the Elvira González Gallery (Madrid).

2008

He exhibited individually at the Musée National d'Art moderne, Center Georges Pompidou (Paris), under the title Voyage dans la ville «Sous la lune II».

The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao inaugurates the Laboratories exhibition. Looks around the permanent collection: Miquel Navarro.

Participate in the World Record: Art & Sport exhibition at the Iberia Center for Contemporary Art, Beijing and in the Josep Suñol Collection exhibition. Second Part 1970–2001 of the Suñol Foundation, Barcelona.

He is elected full academician of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts of San Fernando, filling the vacancy left by Juan de Ávalos after his death.

2009

His work is part of the "Sculpture" exhibition in the IVAM Collection of the Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM) in Valencia.

2010

The piece L'Almassil is installed in the Plaza Mayor of Mislata, Valencia.

His work is present in the group exhibition of painting and sculpture aimed at raising funds for UNICEF held at the Palau de la Música, Valencia.

He exhibits alongside other artists at The International 3, Manchester, and at the Institut Valencià d'Art Modern (IVAM), Valencia.

2011

The exhibition Figures for Battle is exhibited outside the Cidade da Cultura de Galicia, Santiago de Compostela.

His work Cabeza Pensante is temporarily installed in Plaza Patriarca, Valencia.

Together with the journalist Rafa Marí, he presents the artistic project 12 cities of the world at the Valencian Institute of Modern Art (IVAM), Valencia.

He is named Favorite Son of Mislata (Valencia).

UNESCO accepts the donation of the sculpture “Ciudad vigía” for its Artistic Heritage.

2012

City and Body is inaugurated at the Capa Gallery in Madrid.

Expose Beneath the Moon II: Journey through the City en el San Diego Museum of Art, EE. UU.

2013

Temporary exhibition of “Sentinel City” at the Mie Prefectural Art Museum (Mie, Japan).

2014

The Fernández-Braso gallery in Madrid organizes Miquel Navarro. Monuments and crowds.

2016

The first edition of the Mislata Miquel Navarro Biennial is celebrated.

2017

The Miquel Navarro exhibition opens. Imaginary Archaeologies, Aretoa Cube Room, Kursaal Donostia/San Sebastian.

2018

The exhibition “Fluidos” is presented at the Bancaja Foundation in Valencia, a complete overview of Miquel Navarro's career since 1976.

2020

The Miquel Navarro Foundation of the Valencian Community is established.

The exhibition “El gabinet secret de Miquel Navarro” is presented at the IVAM in Valencia

2021

He takes office as a new academic of the Royal Academy of San Carlos in Valencia.

2022

The Saló de Respecte de la Diputación de Valencia hosts the exhibition "Controlled smoke, fumeral", which moves to the microcosm conceived by Miquel Navarro between the vegetable garden and the city.

Inauguration, at the CAC Málaga, of the exhibition “Domain and Dream”, a journey through almost forty years of the work of Miquel Navarro, including some of his best-known cities, sculptures of various formats and materials, silkscreens on canvas and watercolors.

The sculpture “Walker” is installed in a roundabout in Mislata as a symbol of progress and a look toward the future.

2023

The exhibition "Poetic Urbanism" is presented at the Muvim in Valencia.
